The blue portion of this flag has been made from wood that was used to board up a house when Hurricane Irma came through Florida in September 2017. It was treated with the ancient Japanese technique of shou sugi ban. The white and red stripes of the flag have been made from oak plank flooring that was picked from Sarasota Architectural Salvage in Sarasota, FL in May 2019. This wood was made with the words "MADE IN THE USE" engraved into the wood. The star was cut from Texas license plates that were picked in Lubbock, TX in July 2019. The stars were spray painted white, and the entire flag was clear coated with a matte coating.
There are braces along the back to help hold these together. Each one is made with a hanging device installed on the back.
The smaller size weighs approximately 3.5 lbs and the larger one is closer to 4 lbs.
Imperfections may exist due to being handmade.
